Technologists discuss solutions, trends in managed
security

"Going Beyond the Firewall" featured a presentation by ProtectPoint Network Security, a Peak 10 partner company, on innovative methods to plug gaps in data security.
Over a dozen engineers from Peak 10 client companies interacted with Brian Herman, ProtectPoint director of channel development, and Jeramiah Dooley, Peak 10 Charlotte director of operations and engineering, to discuss intrusion detection and prevention. The session focused on the reasons driving the growing use of intrusion detection system technologies to protect companies from internal and external network threats. Attendees gained insight into how intrusion detection systems analyze network traffic beyond the firewall, and also learned about applications and techniques used to detect and prevent malicious activities.
